intimacy
EM was the recipient of a scholarship for IDC (Intimacy Directors and Coordinators, US) Level 1 Intimacy Directors Programme, and then was accepted into the Intimacy Accelerators course pathway for worldwide Intimacy Professionals. They provide intimacy consultancy and awareness as a Black, Queer, Trans facilitator and advocator whilst in training, working as an accountability officer in Kink and Sex Worker positive spaces.
“They strike a really good balance of informality and professionalism which makes them probably the most reassuring intimacy practitioner I've worked with”
Jenette La Lacheur - Writer & Director
"When I accepted a part in a short film that involved a kiss, I was told I'd be attending a session with an Intimacy Coordinator.
I was puzzled, because after all, 'a kiss is just a kiss', isn't it? We've all seen, and maybe had, hundreds of them. But after my session with EM I had to acknowledge that kisses with strangers raise so many considerations. and it's really helpful and sensible to employ a third party to oversee scripted contact. It helps avoid discomfort, embarrassment, annoyance ... and maybe a law suit.
What I liked about EM's session was that the points they raised transformed what had previously just been a stage instruction into an experience that I could visualise and engage with before I got to set. There's nothing better than being well prepared for activities that involve fellow actors with their own set of sensibilities.
EM is personable, professional and just plain nice to deal with. I highly recommend them"
Jeanette Clarke - Actor
“ They navigated the complexity of the project with total professionalism and rose to the unique nature of the role by tailoring their practice to work with specifically trans cast members.
They led pre-rehearsal sessions with both the creatives and cast to explain their process and offer suggestions on access techniques to allow all team members to advocate for themselves throughout rehearsals and the run.
We need more Queer intimacy coordinators as Queer people need to feel they are seen by and working with other Queer people within the industry “
